Memories

Dimension: Variable

Media: Gold leaf, Rabbit skin glue, Digital print, graphite and acrylic on paper.

My project for Chobimela IX is based on my family photographs; some of the photographs are very old and some are recent. All demonstrate life events, moments, underlying emotions and critical issues in my life. I am not a photographer. I am a visual artist mostly do painting and regularly uses photography as reference for my art works, particularly for painting and drawing. Sometimes I collect photograph from different discourses based on themes, and Sometimes arranges the subjects and takes photographs for artwork.

My interest is in querying the technique of the printing process as well. At first, for Chobimela IX, my idea was to develop new drawings based on old family Photographs. But while collecting photographs from family and relatives and selecting them for the work, my primary idea shifted to another level. It is a continuous process that I would like to incorporate with new ideas and techniques.
